Stronger together: FAIR-EASE and EuroScienceGateway join forces13 February 2023
Two Horizon Europe projects directed towards the development and deployment of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)—FAIR-EASE and EuroScienceGateway (ESG)—have agreed to closely cooperate over the next three years in order to extend the open source Galaxy platform for FAIR data analysis to a broader group of scientific user communities.

Last September we were happy to take part in the “Horizon Europe projects coordination meeting in the context of the EOSC European Partnership” in Brussels, hosted by European Commission’s DG RTD.

Marie Boichu, CNRS researcher at the Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics (LOA) at the University of Lille, works on volcanic emissions to understand the volcanoes and the impact of volcanic eruptions on the atmosphere and the environment. She coordinates the “Volcano Space Observatory” pilot project as part of the Fair-Ease project. There has been a concrete example in recent weeks of volcanic activities with the eruption of Piton de la Fournaise on September 19, 2022.

The new project FAIR-EASE, kicked off in September 2022, will set up an interdomain digital architecture for integrated use of environmental data, made up of a Data Discovery and Access Service and an Earth Analytical Lab and Data Lake.
