The EOSC Winter School was conceptualised following a suggestion at the European Commission’s June coordination meeting, which identified a significant collaboration gap in the Horizon Europe (HE) EOSC-related projects.

The webinar will give information about the Blue-Cloud initiative and more details about the architecture and approach for the Blue-Cloud DD&AS. More information will be given about the Blue-Cloud 2026 activity for optimizing the FAIRness of the DD&AS and the web services of its federated (BDIs). Moreover, it will provide insight how a few BDIs are managing their networks of data originators in order to provide harmonised and FAIR discovery and access to their collected data resources, using and promoting best practices and standards.

The Global Conference on Biodiversity and Monitoring is organized by GEO BON and its partners between 10-13 October 2023 in Montreal, Canada.

One year after COP15 of the UN CBD and the landmark agreement of a Global Biodiversity Framework, the GEO BON global conference will focus on the grand challenge of ‘Monitoring Biodiversity for Action’. A central theme will be the development of best practices and new technologies for biodiversity observations and monitoring to support transformative policy and conservation action.

The European Global Ocean Observing System (EuroGOOS) promotes, since 1994, the development of Operational Oceanography in Europe as the component of the Global Ocean Observing System of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC GOOS).

Every three years the EuroGOOS conference provides a forum for marine scientists and technologists developing operational oceanography products, and the users of these services including decision and policy-makers as well as the private sector.

The iconic initiative of OpenAIRE returns to its vibrant face-to-face format for its fourth edition in Madrid, Spain from 25-27 September. This year's event will provide the opportunity to meet in person once again, thanks to the collaboration between OpenAIRE and its Spanish NOAD, the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

FAIR-EASE is dedicated to opening gateways for the field of earth and environmental sciences by addressing the limitations of the current digital architecture. Our primary focus is to facilitate integrated use of environmental data, overcoming the challenges posed by distributed and domain-specific data repositories.

The Galaxy Community Conference (GCC) is an annual conference focused on the use and development of the Galaxy platform for data-intensive biomedical research. The conference brings together scientists, software developers, and trainers of Galaxy from a variety of disciplines to share their experiences, knowledge, and skills.

The annual EGU General Assembly is the largest geosciences event in Europe, attracting over 16,000 scientists from around the world, with more than half being early career. The meeting covers all Earth, planetary, and space sciences, with over 16,000 oral, poster, and interactive presentations, and features sessions selected by each scientific division, as well as Union-wide sessions such as Great Debates, inter- and transdisciplinary sessions, and short courses. The meeting also includes a job center, artists-in-residence, and a newsletter, and abstracts and materials from all previous General Assemblies are available on EGUsphere, the Union’s central repository for open-access scientific materials.

In this dedicated webinar, FAIR-EASE will present the distributed and integrated services for observation and modelling of the Earth system, environment and biodiversity being developed in close cooperation with user-communities, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and research infrastructures in their design and sustainable availability.
